उत्थान और पतन

 उत्थान और पतन एक ही सिक्के के दो पहलू हैं। उत्थान होगा, तो पतन भी तय है क्योंकि हर ऊँचाई अपने साथ गिरावट के बीज भी लेकर आती है। कोई व्यक्ति या समाज शिखर पर पहुँचता है, तो उसमें धीरे-धीरे एक खतरनाक गलतफहमी जन्म लेने लगती कि मैं ही श्रेष्ठ हूँ, मैं ही अंतिम सत्य हूँ। बस यहीं से शुरुआत होती है पतन की। सफलता पचाना बहुत मुश्किल काम होता है। सफलता आत्मविश्वास नहीं, अक्सर आत्ममुग्धता बन जाती है। उसके निर्णय सही हों या गलत, उन्हें ही परम सत्य मान लिया जाता है। उसे दूसरों की आवाज़ें अनसुनी, नए विचार नगण्य और बदलते समय की आहट बेअसर लगने लगती है। जब आँखें बंद हो जाएँ तो वक्त, विज्ञान, बदलाव और खतरे सब अदृश्य हो जाते हैं। पतन अचानक नहीं आता, वो तो चुपचाप भीतर ही भीतर पनप रहा होता है। सबसे बड़ी भूल तब होती है जब वर्तमान को छोड़कर, समाज अपने सुनहरे अतीत में जीने लगता है। याद रखिए जो समय के साथ नहीं बदलता, समय उसे बदल देता है। इसीलिए समय रहते इस गलतफहमी से दूरी बनाना अत्यंत जरूरी है।
